Property registration and upgrade purchases

Refund Policy

Effective
24 August 2026
Last updated
24 August 2026

Internet City sells one-time digital property registrations and building upgrades.

Purchases are generally final after successful fulfillment.

Because registration changes the public state of the city and allocates a limited plot, exceptions apply where a refund is required by law or covered by this policy.

1. Automatic refund situations

A full refund should be issued when Internet City successfully receives payment but cannot provide the purchased property because of a platform-side ownership conflict.

Examples include:

  • a payment succeeds after the selected plot has already been validly registered to another user;
  • a duplicate payment is captured for the same logical order;
  • payment succeeds but a technical failure makes fulfillment impossible and Internet City cannot reasonably provide the purchased property.

In these cases, Internet City should not overwrite another resident's ownership. The affected payment should instead be moved into refund processing.

2. Failed or cancelled payments

If a payment fails or is cancelled before completion, the property is not registered.

No refund is normally necessary if the payment provider did not capture funds. Temporary authorization holds may be controlled by the user's bank or payment provider and may take time to disappear.

3. Successfully registered properties

Once payment is confirmed and the selected property is successfully registered, the purchase is generally final.

A change of mind does not automatically qualify for a refund. This is because the transaction allocates limited digital inventory and immediately changes the public city registry.

Internet City may still review exceptional requests on a case-by-case basis. Nothing in this policy limits refund, cancellation, or consumer rights that cannot legally be waived.

4. Building upgrades

Successfully fulfilled building upgrades are generally final.

If an upgrade payment succeeds but cannot be applied because of a platform-side conflict or stale ownership state, Internet City should issue the appropriate refund rather than incorrectly changing property entitlement.

5. Duplicate charges

If you believe you were charged more than once for the same Internet City order, contact support. Confirmed duplicate successful payments should be refunded without granting duplicate property entitlement.

6. Incorrect or unauthorized charges

If you believe a charge was unauthorized or materially incorrect, contact webcitysupport@gmail.com as soon as reasonably possible.

Provide:

  • the email used for the purchase;
  • plot number, if known;
  • order or receipt ID;
  • date of payment;
  • brief description of the issue.

Do not send full card numbers or card security codes by email.

7. Refund processing time

Approved refunds are submitted through the payment provider. The time required for funds to appear can depend on:

  • payment method;
  • issuing bank;
  • payment provider;
  • currency;
  • country.

Internet City cannot guarantee the exact time a bank will take to display a completed refund.

8. Payment provider

Payments and refunds may be processed by a third-party payment provider or merchant of record, including Dodo Payments where available. Additional provider terms may apply to the payment transaction.

9. Fraud or abuse

Internet City may deny discretionary refunds where there is evidence of:

  • fraud;
  • abuse;
  • attempted ownership manipulation;
  • chargeback abuse;
  • policy violations;
  • misrepresentation.

This does not limit mandatory legal rights.
